<p>Ciro Immobile told&nbsp;<em>RAI Sport</em>: “Seeing the fans celebrate after all this time was wonderful, we finally got to come together after so long of this damned virus.</p> <p>“I think we showed patience this evening. Turkey are a strong side and caused problems for many top teams. We tried to tire them out in the first half, moving the ball left and right, trying to spread them.</p> <p>“Unfortunately, we regularly hit their brick wall, especially as we’re not that good in the air. Turkey were more tired after the break, and after the goal they had to open up some spaces, so that’s when our quality emerged.</p> <p>“Scoring a goal on the Euros debut in my stadium, it doesn’t get better.”</p>

Some kerfuffle inside the Turkey box. There's another shout for handball, which is being reviewed by VAR.

Turkey look for a penalty, but it's not given.

Insigne with another shot, but it's saved comfortably. He did well to find space for the chance.

Donnarumma is forced to make a save for the first time, clearing a Turkey chance. Most he's had to do the entire game!

Header by Immobile that didn't look too threatening for the Turkey goalkeeper, but the fans still "ohhhhhh" anyway. What a sound we've missed!!

30 minutes gone, with still nothing to show for it. Italy have had two of the best chances of the game, but failed to convert. Turkey are struggling to look like a threat. Still a long way to go!

CHANCE! Chiellini with a brilliant headed effort from a swinging corner, but it's saved!

Insigne has the best chance of the game so far, but it's just wide – and just touches the crossbar!

Turkey did well on the counter-attack, but fluff it last minute – and the whistle's gone.
