No one has created more goals in the French top flight this season than Simon, who has been irrepressible down the Canaries’ left flank.

Moses Simon

Plummeting down the Power Rankings after a miserable spell, but there’s still hope that Aubameyang can return to his former levels.
He netted the winner against Norwich City as Arsenal won their first league game, and also struck a hat-trick in the Carabao Cup victory over West Bromwich Albion.

Zaha continues to deliver in fits and starts for Crystal Palace.
He struggled during their opening fixtures under Patrick Vieira, but was excellent as Tottenham Hotspur were put to the sword as the new manager got his first victory.

On his day, there aren’t too many Africa players who can hurt opponents quite like Zaha.

Now 26, and with several years at Arsenal under his belt, Pepe needs to start delivering on a consistent basis.
To his credit, he’s excelled since a slow start to the season, with back-to-back assists—and a goal—against The Albion and then Norwich.

If he can maintain this form, he will be climbing up the rankings.

Everything appears set up for Osimhen to establish himself as Africa’s finest striker in the world today, although the season didn’t start perfectly as he was dismissed against Venezia.
Now back in Napoli’s starting XI, he’s also among the goals in Serie A, having netted in their 4-0 thumping of Udinese at the weekend.

The striker also bagged twice in the 2-2 Europa League draw with Leicester City.

It’s not been an easy start to the season for Leicester City, although Ndidi continues to demonstrate his midfield qualities as the Foxes look to turn things around.
He’s in the top three in the league for interceptions per match, and has also averaged three tackles per game for Brendan Rodgers’ team so far.

The Mali man ultimately remained at Brighton &amp; Hove Albion despite offseason reports linking him with the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United.
His commanding displays to start the season have demonstrated why he is one of Africa’s stars on the rise.

Four goals and two assists in six league outings so far this term, as the OGC Nice wonderkid continues to reaffirm his quality in Ligue 1.
The starlet’s performances have helped Les Aiglons up to seventh in the top flight table at the time of writing.

Amine Gouiri

Another African player who looks back to his best this season, centre-back Koulibaly has been one of the key figures in Napoli’s exceptional start to the season.
The Partenopei have only conceded twice in their four Serie A games to date—no side has conceded fewer—while he’s also had a hand in three goals at the other end.

Despite being tipped for a strong start to the season, Mahrez has had a relatively muted few weeks.
He scored twice in Manchester City’s League Cup rout of Wycombe Wanderers, and while there were further goal contributions in the routs of Norwich City, Arsenal and RasenBallsport Leipzig, he was ineffective as Pep Guardiola’s side stuttered against Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton.

Riyad Mahrez

Comfortably the finest African goalkeeper in the world today, Mendy is one of several players appearing to be at the top of their game under Thomas Tuchel, who are helping Chelsea look like credible title challengers.
He’s conceded just once in his five outings since the Super Cup victory.

Edouard Mendy

Only just pipped to top spot by a familiar face, Mane has already scored three goals for Liverpool this campaign, and appears determined to help the Reds back to the pinnacle of the English game.
He recently reached his century of goals for the Merseysiders.

Sadio Mane

Reached a century of Premier League goals with a strike against Leeds United, and is fast closing in on Didier Drogba’s African record of 104 goals in the top flight.
Salah was exceptional last term as Liverpool forced their way into the Champions League, and has already weighed in with four goals and two assists so far during a magnificent start to the season.
