African Transfer Rumour Power Ranking

At the season’s conclusion, there were rumours that Mahrez’s time at Manchester City had come to an end, with rumours swirling that he could have piqued the interest of Arsenal.
The Algeria maestro—a Premier League champion with City this season—appeared to put all transfer rumours to bed with a clear indication last week that he was in no mood to countenance a move.

Speaking to a local source after firing his side past Mali on Sunday, Mahrez said: “There is nothing about my future.

“I am well in Manchester,” he added. “I will stay, God willing.

“I don't yet know what my situation will be, but I am happy at City - and they are the club where I want to be.”

The attacker has also been linked with Barcelona and Olympique de Marseille.

“People have spoken about me ending my career with Marseille, but that is not something I think about,” he continued. “I want to finish my career in England, with City. I don't foresee myself at Marseille.”

It’s all gone quiet on this one, with little current speculation involving Zaha and his ability to get the move away from Crystal Palace he’s been craving.
Last week, Emmanuel Petit suggested that Zaha is exactly the kind of player Arsenal need to be signing, but this compelling suggestion appears to haven fallen on deaf ears.

It’s been a tricky year for Ziyech at Chelsea, even though he has ended the season with a Champions League winner’s medal.
The playmaker now appears to be primed for the exit door, with reports in the Daily Mail last week suggesting that AC Milan were considering a triple Stamford Bridge swoop for Ziyech, Fikayo Tomori and Olivier Giroud.

Over the weekend, reports came to light that the Morocco playmaker had hired a new agent in order to facilitate a move away from the club which—if true—appears to indicate an imminent end to his time at Stamford Bridge.

Various Premier League heavyweights have been linked with Bissouma, with the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool tipped with interest in the Mali midfielder.
The favourites, however, appear to be Arsenal, with Football London confident that the Gunners are planning a major transfer overhaul this summer.

The same source reckon Bissouma could be one of the arrivals, even if much of their confidence appears to rest in titbits <a href="https://www.football.london/arsenal-fc/transfer-news/gabriel-arsenal-transfer-yves-bissouma-20805904" target="_blank">picked up from the player’s social media channels…and those of his future potential teammates</a>.

Arsenal were already handed a major boost in their rumoured pursuit of Onana last week, when his suspension for taking a banned substance was reduced to three months.
It means the Cameroon stopper could be available early in the 2021-22 season, rather than in the Spring.

Further encouraging for the Gunners is that Ajax have signed another keeper in Jay Gorter, suggesting that they may be doing some succession planning should Onana depart.

Considering the player’s contract ends in 2022, the Dutch heavyweights may have to do a deal this summer in order to receive a fee for the player.

This one appears to be heating up, with the Daily Express reporting that Chelsea are keen on recruiting Hakimi from Internazionale.
Sky Sports announced earlier in the week that Chelsea had matched Paris Saint-Germain’s eye-watering £56.1 million bid for the right-back, and considering the Nerazzurri’s rumoured financial issues, they may well be tempted by this fee.

Sky Italia have added weight to the suggestion that Hakimi could be destined for Stamford Bridge by indicating that Inter would be keen on either Andreas Christensen or Emerson, who could be used as makeweights in any deal.
