Was introduced with less than 10 minutes remaining in the game and thus could not be rated.&nbsp;

Lars Veldwijk 

6/10 - He was introduced late on in order to change the game, and while he looked promising he was unable to muster and clear cut opportunities.&nbsp;

Sibusiso Vilakazi

5/10 - Despite being the top scorer in qualification, Tau did not look all too comfortable. His counter-attacking game was kept at bay by a resilient Ivory Coast defence, but most importantly, he was never given space or allowed to run at the opposition defence, which saw his threat contained.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Percy Tau

5/10 - Isolated and saw little of the ball. He could not make his physical presence heard upfront as the gap between him and Percy Tau was too big.&nbsp;

Lebo Mothiba

6/10 - The Sundowns forward was supposed to be Bafana's creative mastermind, but he was unable to have an effect on the game and was well marshalled by the Ivorian's defence.&nbsp;

Themba Zwane

6/10 - Once again failed to live up to expectations as he, along with Furman, cancelled each other out due to their similar style of play.&nbsp;

Kamohelo Mokotjo

6/10 - Bafana's destroyer in the middle of the park. Although, he was a rock in midfield, a lapse in concentration saw him and his teammates punished as Bafana were edged out.&nbsp;

Dean Furman

5/10 - Was deployed in midfield, a role he is no longer accustomed to playing. Maboe was completely isolated and offered little to nothing going forward.&nbsp;

Lebohang Maboe

7/10 - Looked promising but struggled going forward and was often disposed of the ball. Kodjia also gave him sleepless nights early on as he drifted wide on a number of occasions to isolate the full-back.

Sifiso hlanti

7/10 - Partnered Hlatshwayo at the back. He was a towering presence in defence and he didn't allow Ivory Coast to dominate the physical challenges.&nbsp;

Buhle Mkhwanazi

<p>7/10 - Much was expected from the Bafana captain, but aside from a header which flew agonisingly wide in the first half, he was quiet.</p>
<p>Defensively, the only time he was split from his partner was when Bafana conceded.&nbsp;</p>


Thulani Hlatshwayo

7/10 - The full-back was phenomenal down the right and side defensively but struggled to create much going forward.&nbsp;

Thamsanqa Mkhize

<p>8/10&nbsp;- The keeper was a surprise inclusion in Stuart Baxter's Bafana Bafana squad.&nbsp;</p>
<p>However, he earned his stripes with two notable saves, one from Jonathan Kodjia from close range and another late on when he kept out Nicolas Pepe's freekick.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
